Deus ex can i save malik

Unless they changed it since I last played, bots self-destructing when killed doesn't count against you for Pacifist. Two belltower guys died after I tossed an EMP grenade down on the boxguard, and that was the playthrough I got the achievement on. I don't do pacifist. Silliest concept. It is ok to cripple someone for life but you can't take it. Anyway I used the heavy assault rifle on normal armored ones and take downs on the armor folks. Saving Malik was easily the worst moment in the game for people playing as stealth focused characters.

I was stuck in that conflict with the nonlethal pistol and the nonlethal rifle, and I ended up uninstalling the game out of rage. Roktansky View Profile View Posts. Originally posted by AlexanderB :. No one will die from the explosion because you can take everyone relevant down with the stun gun long before they enter the blast radius. Just for clarity.

Enemy positioning and movement isn't random. They just advance on their target. The only way they get in the blast radius is if you leave the heavies up for quite a lot longer than you should.

If you don't cloak, the assault rifle troops might target you and end up walking into the blast radius. That's about it. Take out the snipers with the stun gun at your leisure. They do so little damage that you have absolutely no rush to take them out and they probably won't ever target you, meaning the cloak isn't really necessary. User Info: theos Mattheau posted To be safe I pull the last guy back a little before the bot drops. It is easy, you just need to be quick.

Rule 2, ignore rule 1. I think i did it. All the enemies i found after cleaning the place up had the sleepy sign.

Here are a few things that may help out: Use those exploding barrels. You can use those to take out enemies that are nearby. If you have a long ranged weapon like sniper rifle, it helps out a lot.

You have to take out those heavies fast as they do tons of damage. Get the attention of the big bot that gets dropped. If you can toss two emp grenades over, he'll die.

If you don't have any, shoot it a few times so he's focused on you instead. You can still save her on a pacifist playthrough, but its much harder. The reward for saving Malik is: She later assists you by saving the Sarif scientists in Singapore and dealing with a bunch of enemies with an emp blast so you don't have to face them.

Improve this answer. Interesting, I'll try harder on my next playthrough, I suppose. What are the rewards if your successful? I had no grenades, but I was able to take out the bot with a heavy rifle by peaking around the right of the right-most cover thingy and just holding down the mouse button. For some reason, it couldn't hit me - I didn't lose any life at all. Seems like the upgraded Typhoon might be the best way to knock out all those enemies quickly enough to save her.

Anyone tried that? Show 1 more comment. Here's a little walkthrough if you're on Pacifist so no exploding barrels etc. Shoot the two heavies with Tranq darts from where you stand. Sprint around to the right don't bother cloaking or being subtle, the enemies won't focus on you until you're too close or shooting at them Pull out your stun gun and starting with the one guy on the bottom floor and working your way up the stairs to the next floors, takedown non-lethal and stungun every guy you see.

They'll be too focused on Malik to put up much resistance. After you've cleared out the first floor not the ground floor there should only be about 3 guys left, one sniper above you, and two guys one more sniper in the other building. Whether you want to take the sniper out or take out the other guy first and then take out both snipers is up to you, but with the snipers slow rate of fire they're not much of a threat.

Mr Smooth Mr Smooth This strategy worked for me, with the caveat that, on Deus Ex mode, the heavies took 3 tranqs to the head each to take down, which took waaaay too much time.

Take the two heavy guards out there before they can move forward. This will keep the exploding boxbot from killing them later. The rest is fairly straightforward, taking down those at the right side first, then those at the left. Just be careful not to do takedowns that can cause the snipers to fall down to the ground, as the fall may kill them.

From your starting location move forward and right off the raised area into the construction. Sprint toward the partly finished wall jump over it and move past the first pillar to stun the merc near the second. Continue forward into the next "room" then activate cloak and head left to stun the first heavy merc. Turn to the right you are now facing the same direction as level start and head toward the second heavy, after stunning him turn left and head into the construction for cover as your energy runs out you are now de-cloaked.

Turn left again to see Malik's VTOL and a merc with his back to you, stun him and turn to your left again heading back toward the gap between the two partly constructed buildings.

The robot will drop near where you stunned the first heavy toss an EMP at it and sprint past it toward the ramp in front of you slightly left of the robot.

If you stunned anybody close to where the robot drops, try to drag them out of the blast radius so they're not killed when the robot cooks off. There will be three more mercs to deal with in this area, one by the ramp either at the bottom or near the top as you reach the second floor and two taking cover by pillars on the second floor.

The sniper is often near the edge of the building, along with an explosive container, so be careful so he doesn't die. Once you've finished with the sniper head over to the second building and make the climb to the third floor of the second building, where you will encounter another sniper, also perched on the edge near an explosive container.

You can watch a video demonstration of the above walkthrough here with some minor changes to utilize one Tranquilizer dart to speed up the process. In addition, if you came into this fight without an EMP grenade, you can obtain one as shown later in the video to take care of the boxguard. Deus Ex Wiki Explore. Deus Ex series.
