Realistically… no, probably not. Being in the Formspring mode made me at least temporarily more inclined to offer something. The first question raised by this is one of motive — if I was on autopilot was I even motivated by a selfless desire? Certainly some have accused the motivation behind setting up a Formspring account to be one of ego. A bit of a stigma is attached to Formspring however as demonstrate above because using it requires the creation of an account, which seems to say something about the user when they join.
That their opinion of themselves includes either, a thinking that people might want to ask them questions and b that their answers are worth reading or caring about.
One aspect of the service the importance of which often gets minimised, however, is the ability to ask anonymous questions. This feature needs to be underscored because of the impact it has on both the questioner and the answerer.
Allowing for anonymous questions seems to have the main benefit of eliminating the sign-up barrier that would turn a lot of people away from asking a question. Many Formspring users take offense to the often derogatory and degrading comments and questions posted on their account, and choose not to create a website for this reason. The appeal of Formspring lies within the curiosity of frequent social networking users who are inquisitive as to what people would like to know about them, and some students and users protect their privacy by choosing to only answer and post appropriate questions.
I sometimes get pretty offensive questions. Cyberbullying and an unwanted sharing of personal information can also be prevented by choosing to use technology responsibly.
Not only can publicly shared information become a gateway to inevitable unwanted attention and even blackmail, but it can cause serious repercussions to young college applicants who are sometimes faced with regretted images, anecdotes, or opinions that are re-surfaced by inquisitive colleges.

Really Heather? In my mind, I had you as a person that might benefit from something like this. On your blog, I imagine that anonymity would be appealing to some that might want to ask questions about special needs kids and not feel comfortable being identified…for whatever reason. Medical forums, authoritative blogs on addiction, authorities on other sensitive issues, and blogs about abuse…the list is practically endless as to places where I could see this as a sidebar widget being useful and productive.
In other places I see it as at least an engaging ice breaker. I use Tumblr as the host for my blog, and I'm happy with every feature that it has. I agree with Heather on this issue; I think having another website is a little "too much" just for a client to ask a question. I would rather it be in the form of a comment, like she stated on my Tumblr, you can post comments either anonymously or with an account, just like Formspring.
